"I bought 2, Heat Surge, fireplaces years ago that finally quit working and my two oak frames sat empty till I read a advertisement for electric fireplaces on Facebook and decided to look for inserts and found that you folks made the fireplace itself for Heat Surge so I bought the newest version, made a small adjustment to reset the wooden frame and slipped it in easily. After easily working the first insert for a few weeks I bought the second on and upgraded the second unit. Flawless switch over to these new versions."

I have to say that

"I have to say that the finish and build quality are top notch, the Modern Ember Uptown arrived well packaged and installation was straightforward. However, in terms of the look of the flame, I'm disappointed. I previously had a Dimplex that was much more realistic and colorful. But this model also produces better heat than the Dimplex. So it's a trade-off. If I had it to do again, I would not have gotten the brick background, I think it detracts from the flame look."

The directions were terrible -

"The directions were terrible - I called and the woman while kind could not help. She asked if I had looked for videos online. I had, and there were none with your model. I followed the directions when building the wood box - making sure that I had the correct model, only to find out that when it came to placing the fireplace in the surround it was not the correct size. Really disappointed. For what I paid, I expected things to be correct."

"Unrelated to the quality of the unit. The process of delivery and receiving this unit has been a nightmare. First they shipped only only half my order (the noise maker). Then they reshipped it with improper paper work and it’s been days without hearing anything."

Easy, cozy and beautiful!!

"Wow! So happy! We needed to replace an old gas fireplace insert but no longer wanted to smell the gas. I start looking at electric however I had a piece of wood furniture that I wanted it to slide into, but I needed more height on the fireplace. I considered adding a block of wood painted on top as someone else did, but then it leaves the fireplace flat on the floor and out of balance. Once I figured out that the trim kit was a 3 inch trim, I decided to build a platform the width of the heating unit. I used two 2x4’s on the end and spanned 2x4s across using screws. The height was 3 inch exactly which was absolutely perfect. The unit itself is a plug-in, no installation. The magnetic trim kit has eight little bitty screws and took five minutes to build. I attached the magnetic trim kit on the unit once it was placed on the stand and then placed my little wood frame over the top and it is perfect! The fireplace itself is so adjustable that you can get any level of light, many different colors, 10 different levels of heat and independent fan so your comfort level is up to you. We are totally impressed with this beautiful little unit that took all of 20 minutes to unbox, install and thoroughlyenjoy!"
